Western Valve History

Western Valve was established in 1991 by Pat and Deanna Murray in Bakersfield California.  Western Valve has grown from a small machine shop with a few employees; into a cutting edge 50,000 square foot high-tech facility; with more than 35 employees.  Western Valve utilizes a combination of proven manual machining technology; with the latest CNC machining centers.

 

Western Valve is a privately held company.

DAN-EX History

The DAN-EX Dual Expanding Plug Valve was introduced in 1979 by the Daniel Valve Company. The dual expanding valve was not a reverse engineered valve product; but a product designed by a team of senior engineers as a superior alternative to the original double block and bleed plug valve.

 

Ten thousand DAN-EX valves were manufactured and distributed worldwide between 1979 and 2000, approximately two thousand of those were 12” valves.

 

The DAN-EX valve has a positive track record that exceeds 25 years, and a worldwide installation base that has proven the integrity of the valve, its design, and its value.

 

In 2000 the DAN-EX valve line was acquired by Western Valve. Western Valve continues to produce the DAN-EX valve; it has not been altered from its original design sold by Daniel Valve for 22 years.

 

Western Valve has sold more that one-hundred and fifty 12” DAN-EX valves since the acquirement of the line in October of 2000. All DAN-EX valves include new parts and are machined, assembled and tested at our modern facility based in Bakersfield, California.
